The Definitive Pixar In-Jokes List

azzstar, oh i knew it was there! But good eye.

updated The list is looking better and better, everyone. <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and

Well, we already spotted it at the truck stop along with a couple of other Pixar trucks - it’s on the list already. I’m not sure if the truck is in that place that you mentioned as well, but either way we already caught it.

It’s ok. I figured what the problem was, and it wasn’t your fault. It’s because when you show the pictures here, they are too wide for this forum’s layout so it resizes them automatically, but if you were to link to the picture instead, this wouldn’t happen. But you can continue doing what you are doing, I’ll just right click, and press “View Image” to see the full size of the picture, so it’s no problem. And by the way, the screenshots you have provided have been very helpful and save me a lot of time when updating, so thank you!

rachel: A little update, I am half-way done with my TI in-joke reference search. I am already on the 1 hour mark on the movie.

rachel - Congratulations! Your thread has now been turned into an official “Sticky”.

– Mitch

TSS - Cool. I can’t wait to see what you’ve found. If you have a lot of references you can always post half now and half later, if that would be easier.

Mitch - Thank you so much! <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and

Well, it isn’t a lot rachel, but you will see.

No worries I understand what your saying, I’ll try my best to combine my post into one post.

rachel - My pleasure!

azzstar - Oh, awesome. Thank you very much.

Hey folks!

I’m new here, so please correct me if what I’m posting isn’t right for this thread.
It may be a tad too obvious for y’all to care about mentioning, but in Cars, Lightning is wearing Lightyear tires, and it’s the Lightyear blimp instead of Goodyear.

And I’m not sure if this counts as an Pixar In joke or not since it was a poke at an actor not another film, but the very first “sneaky joke” I caught in any of their films was in Toy Story.

When Buzz & Woody are being held by the evil kid next door, he traps them under a clothes basket w/ a tool box on top. Said tool box is labeled “Binford Tools”, which was a nod to Tim Allen’s “Home Improvement” sit com. On that show he played a DIY tv show host, and that show’s official sponser was the made up “Binford Tool” company.

Can I just say I love this thread? And I think I’m gonna love this forum - I thought I was the only adult out there this Pixar crazy. (But I don’t think they will ever top “Cars” – most background jokes ever)

Gael4ce- I didn’t realise about the whole Binford thing! That’s awesome! That’s a really good one to add to our pretty substancial list now.

And welcome to the forums!

Dude, I never knew that! about Binford Tools. How very intresting.

And welcome to PP Gael4ce!

Hi, Gael4ce! Welcome to Pixar Planet.

Thanks for the couple of Cars references, I’ll have to add them in next time. If you have spotted a lot of other Cars in-jokes, feel free to submit some more (that section is looking a bit bare. Heheh). Unfortunately I can’t add the Home Improvement reference in, since this list is for Pixar in-jokes only, but yeah, the Binford tools reference is one of my favourite inside jokes in Toy Story.

Yeah, me too, before coming to Pixar Planet. Isn’t it great? <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and

Wink" />

I’d don’t think this was added to the list yet. I don’t have Toy Story on DVD but Roly Poly Clown can be seen as the toy sitting next to the car track that Buzz slides down, when Buzz first looks over the bed!

On a side note, I just watched my Toy Story video yesterday and its funny how the cover of the box says: “Disney’s Toy Story” with no mention of Pixar on the cover.

Here’s one for Monsters Inc

The paper which Boo is reaching out for say’s “Mary”, the actual name of the person (Mary Gibbs) who voices boo in the movie.

I haven’t got a screen shot of this, but when McQueen goes to the Radiator Springs Curious, you could see the snowman from Knick Knack in the globe which McQueen and Lizzie are looking at.

I’ve added a ton of references to the Toy Story 2 section - some of them are quite clever. Take a look and I’m sure you will be surprised that you didn’t see them before. I didn’t have enough time to add your contributions that were posted throughout the thread since the last update, but I will add them soon. In the meantime, feel free to keep on submitting. Thanks guys! <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and

I didn’t notice the birthdays and money signature. Awesome, Rachel!

I saw this video on youtube that gave us “Wall-E Locations” in previous Pixar movies. I don’t think it is true and they just photoshop it. I’ll see if I can find a link.

Nice References, didn’t notice them before.

No update this time, but I thought I’d share a few other interesting things I found in Toy Story 2

Does anyone recognise this pink bear that makes an appearance in Toy Story 2? I can’t remember if/when I’ve seen it before

Here are a couple of funny toys that are sold in Al’s Toy Barn: “Hostile Takeover” game, “Don’t eat the jalepenos or drink the water” game. (!!!)

And lastly, on the money that is shown during during the Al’s Toy Barn commercial, on the right hand side there is a chicken character named
Rachel! Heheh. I think her full name may be “Rachel Raffael”, but still, you don’t know how excited I was when I spotted my own name hidden in a Pixar film.

E PLURIBUS CHICKEN! 8D 8D 8D

That pink bear? Go to Toy Story at the beginning of the staff meeting before Woody brings up the moving buddy issue. He checks on the toys on the shelf to make sure they can hear him. Among these toys is your pink bear.
