I saw Last Mimzy recently. Was good, but I think I had
the giggles or something, either that or the parts I thought were supposed to be serious were actually supposed
to be funny and that was okay that I laughed … I dunno.
I’ve got ‘24 Hour Party People’ coming in the
mail, and I should be getting Eragon this weekend. Should be. =P
Well, aside from the
Incredibles? I have a few. But when you say action, do you mean just straight on action, or is action/adventure a
possibility?
It can be any type of action or
action/adventure movie.
Well, there is a long list. If the Incredibles
doesn’t count, I love Pirates, First Knight, James Bond, National Treasure, Heroic movies, Tomb Raider, the list
keeps going.
Favorite action/adventure films:
Indiana Jones
series
The Lord of the Rings (more of a drama, action/adventure mix)
Jurassic Park series
Star Wars series
I
like pretty much any action/adventure film, as long as the story is well-constructed and “solid”.
Just as long as
it has at least one of the things I am about to mention. Swords, jungle, fighting, explosions, male and female
heroines, mystery, swimming and running, shooting, and huge battles.
Yes – exactly! Explosions and gun fights are a must, as is a mysterious plot-line.
The Incredibles contains almost all of the elements that you mentioned, with
the exception of swords. Hey – that would have been kinda cool to see one of the characters wage a swordfight
with a villian in that film, wouldn’t it? Oh well…

True, I would love to see a classic sword battle in TI. In fact, I have a character in my own fanfiction that
works with the Incredibles who also wields a sword, but back on topic. . .
Who here likes Steven Spielberg films?
I do. I think that man is a
genius. His films are so marvelous. I think he is a very good director.
Three Spielberg films (Schindler’s List,
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and Munich) made it to my
list of top films, so I think that’s enough evidence that I very much admire Mr. Spielberg’s work. 
In order, my ten most favourite Spielberg films are as follows (only the ones that I’ve seen, which, as
I mentioned before, sadly doesn’t include the Indiana Jones films, are included in
this list):

I have actually also seen Jurassic Park and
its sequel before, but it’s been a really, really long time since I last watched them, so I don’t consider
myself as having officially watched them (I will watch them eventually, though - now with the eyes of an adult 
)
A lot of you might wonder why Saving Private Ryan is not on the above list.
Well, that’s because I have to see it first before I can make any judgments on it.
So far, there has
only been one Spielberg-directed movie that I didn’t like: the 2005 version of [i]War of the
Worlds[/i]. I was really disappointed when I saw it.
Right now, I’m really looking forward to
the Abraham Lincoln biopic (entitled Lincoln) that Spielberg’s directing. I’m
looking forward to Interstellar as well.
CountSolo - You haven’t seen the Jurassic Park films for a while? You should watch them again.
I just bought the entire series as a DVD set.
And I know that a fourth movie is in development.
Steven Spielberg is a certified
genius. I’m hoping to meet him (and possibly get his autograph) at the
Star Wars Convention IV this May. I’m determined to
shake his hand at least once in my lifetime. 
My favorite of his productions has to be
Jurassic Park – the first one. Gotta love that "Velociraptors in the
Kitchen" moment…

title role. Sean Connery is considering coming out of retirement to play his role from earlier in the series.
Scheduled for release in 2008.
Lincoln - A biopic of the 16th president and a draminization of the Civil
War. Stars Liam Neeson in the title role. Scheduled for release in 2008.
Interstellar - A science fiction
movie themed on wormholes. Speilberg’s first space travel movie. Jonathan Nolan is writing the script with Kip
Thorne. Scheduled for release in 2009.
I am really in to adventure films so I will be on the look out for the Indiana Jones
film. Definetely something I would want to see. I bet Steven will do an incredible job with it.

Oh yeah, I
knew about Indy 4 a long time ago. I’ve been waiting for it for
years, to tell you the truth (but aren’t we all?). One reason is because Harrison
Ford is my favorite actor, so there you have it. (snigger)
Wow – Qui-Gon Gin (Liam Neeson) as President
Lincoln? That will certainly be interesting. Sounds like the film itself will be another winner on Spielberg’s
part!
And Interstellar, eh? I’ll have to check that one out, as well.

What is your favorite Monty Python film?
I don’t have one. I watched Holy Grail and I didn’t
like it.
Holy Grail was pretty funny, to me at least. It was the
feature film directing debut of Terry Gilliam, and he’s gone on to do some interesting stuff (haven’t seen any
of his movies) .
I desperately need to see Life of Brian!
