Pixar Planet IRC Chat

The long awaited Pixar Planet IRC Chat is finally here!

“How do I connect?”, I hear you ask.

For now you can connect through a desktop program, probably the best way in my opinion.

Windows Users: I suggest using Trillian or mIRC.
Mac Users: I suggest Colloquy or Conversation.
iPhone/iPod Touch Users: Colloquy.

Follow the guides for each respective program on how to connect and here at the details.

Server: odyssey.wyldryde.org
Port: 6667
Chatroom: #PixarPlanet

You will want to set your nickname. Your PixarPlanet nickname is requested for easy identification. To set it use the following command.

/nick nicknamehere

After 120 seconds you can register your nickname so no one can steal it.

/msg nickserv register passwordhere emailhere

Now whenever you login to the IRC you need to identify yourself with your nickname. Use:

/nickserv identify password

All of the above forums should allow you to set it up to automate the identify commands and joining of the server and chatroom as soon as you start the program up.

That’s about all you need to get started, do a Google search for more guides if you get stuck.

A web interface for chatting is coming, so fret not if it is confusing.

Happy chatting folks!

Nice. When you get it integrated into the site I’ll make sure to pop in and say hello.

I have found that if you visit the url odyssey.wyldryde.org you can login there and chat too.

i knwo you can get a java applet that connects to IRC

Indeed there are many ways to get a Web applet on the site, but unfortunately, updating the site isn’t as easy as it may seem.
