Composer speculation

Yeah, they would, but back on topic.

Are there any others that would be good?

John Williams.

Oh, how I would

love to hear him score a Pixar film. The question is, what are the chances of that

happening…? (heheh)

Mitch - I think Googly- Bear already made that suggestion, but it is still a really cool idea. Like I said

before, the film takes place in outer space, so that seems really appropriate. Thanks for bringing it up agian,

Mitch!

Bill

 • Ohh…it was already brought up? Heheh – oops. Sorry about that. Well, you’re welcome…in any case!

(snigger)

And yes, judging by the fact that John Williams composed scores for such

space-/universal-related films as Star Wars and ET, he

would be the perfect choice to collaboratively work with the Pixar geniuses on a project such as

WALL-E. Then again, he’s not really Pixar’s “style”, so to speak, so it

probably wouldn’t work. Then again…

Or they could bring in

other composers that are related to Randy, like David Newman.

Bill – Wow, there’s more? How big is his family?

Well, I read this a while back in Wikipedia, and I can tell you that there are

plenty of them. The composers from the Newman family are as follows (the information inside the parentheses tells

you how each is related to Randy)

 • Alfred Newman (uncle)
 • Lionel Newman (uncle)
 • Emil Newman

(uncle)

 • David Newman (first cousin)
 • Thomas Newman (first cousin)
 • Joey Newman (first cousin once

removed)

 • Randy Newman (himself)

There might be more composers from the Newman family, but that’s all

I know for now.

All of them were and are composers as far as I know, so wouldn’t

it be cool if they brought in more members of Randy’s family as composers?

Does

anybody know for a fact on who the composer is going to be for real in this movie?

No. Why do you think this post is called "composer

speculation" then?

Cause we keep metioning composers names and I am getting really confused.

Hehe, I guess we can’t really

speculate unless we mention composers’ names, can we?

We keep suggestion so many good composers. It just

makes me want to know who the perfect/real one is right now.

I’m sorry wer’e torturing you, TSS! Do you have any composer on your mind?

No I don’t. I wish I do. I am not that good on big composer names. I am only

familiar with the Pixar composers. So whoever this mystery person is, I might get to know him a little more.

Let’s see if I can name some composers…

Danny Elfmen (my favorite)

John Williams (my second favorite)

James Newton Howard

Howard Shore

(the Lord of the Rings guy)

Randy Newman

that’s all I can think of

First: You misspelled Danny Elfman’s name.

Second: Good choices!

Just FYI, that profile is obviously Andrew Jameniz (director of

photography for The Incredibles and co-writer/ co-director of One Man

Band), not Andrew Stanton (the director of Finding Nemo and

Wall-E).

Okay, now that the trailer has been released, I have a

question for you all.

Whose music does that sound like to you? Randy Newman, Michael Giachinno, Thomas

Newman ?

I still believe that Thomas Newman is scoring the film.

Actually the

music of the trailer has been composed many years ago by the late Michael Kamen.
It’s from Terry Gilliam’s

Brazil movie.
Anyway I totally agree with you : Thomas Newman is the most probable choice 'cause he worked so

well for Finding Nemo and Andrew Stanton once said that he penned the screenplay while listening to Tom’s

music.
Bye everyone
