Actual Cars models: A Compilation

I thought this can be a good idea for a topic: compare the Cars characters with the actual cars models they’re based on.

It appears that I can’t fit all these images in one single post, so I’ll divide them on groups.

RADIATORS SPRINGS

Mater:

He’s a 1957 Chevrolet Pickup truck. Without hood and with tow equipment, obviously:

Hudson Hornet:

The original Nascar car, a 1952 Hudson Hornet:

He’s by the way, based on the actual Fabulous Hudson Hornet:

Sally:

She’s a Porsche 911 Carrera:

Ramone

A 1959 Chevrolet Impala:

Flo:

It appears she’s just a custom showcar. Can anyone identify an inspiration?

Sheriff:

A 1949 Mercury police car:

Sarge:

A 1941 Willys military Jeep:

Fillmore:

A classic hippie Volkswagen Type 2 bus:

Lizzie:

A 1923 Ford Model T, the first famous car:

Luigi:

The very friendly looking 1959 Fiat 500:

Guido:

He’s just a random forklift, right?

Ooh, I like this!! Nice job. I have no idea for Flo, though. :frowning:

OTHERS

Mack:

He’s a classic Mack Superliner truck:

Uncle Topolino:

An older Fiat 500 "Topolino”:

Mama Topolino:

Surely she’s another Fiat Topolino, but I can’t find exactly which one.

Mia and Tia:

Mazda Miata, clearly 8D:

Miles Axlerod:

Apparently he’s a Range Rover L322. Not really sure about this one either:

Michael Schumacher:

He had to be a Ferrari. He’s the F430:

Tex:

A 1970s Cadillac:

Flik and other bug cars:

1955 Volkswagen Beetle, of course 8D:

SPIES AND VILLAINS

Finn McMissile:

He’s based on the awesome Bond car introduced on Goldfinger, the 1964 Aston Martin DB5:

Holley Shiftwell:

Apparently, she’s inspired by the Jaguar XJR-15. She’s not exactly like it:

Rod Torque Redline

A Dodge Challenger? Don’t think so:

Siddeley:

The G5 Airplane:

Tomber:

He’s a Reliant Robin, but there are many variations of it. I couldn’t find an image of the actual one:

Professor Z:

Yes, it existed. He’s a Zundapp Janus:

Grem:

He’s the AMC Gremlin:

Acer:

1977 AMC Pacer:

This is awesome, SOA! Epic!

This is surely the lamest thread anyone has ever created 8D

And I actually thought it could be interesting.

Great thread, SoA? Are you a car-enthusiast, too?

Anyway, Guido is an Isetta, a popular Italian microcar, with forklift arm modifications.

Flo is custom, but she is inspired by Motorama cars of the 50s (she was a Motorama showgirl in her backstory). Her design is a combination of elements from the GM LeSabre, Buick Sylark II and Buick XP-75.

As for Shiftwell, I believe she’s a Scorpion HX, which is manufactured by a Texan oil company. This leads me to think that she is an American immigrant who became a naturalised British.

Not in the slightest. But I thought it could make an interesting topic.

Hello Mate!

Actually, Mater is an International Truck, with towning device installed, but still using standard International Truck cabin.

BR!

Wow, great job and dedication Spirit! It’s awesome to compare the renders to the models!
